Donate Clothing & Other In-Kind Items

Ruth Ellis Center accepts in-kind donations of new or gently used clothing and other supplies to support the basic needs of the young people we serve.

Items may be dropped off or shipped to our administrative offices located at: 77 Victor St. Highland Park, MI 48203.

Drop Off Hours (Please check-in with the front desk prior to bringing items inside):

Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

New or Gently Used Clothing: New socks & underwear and (seasonal) new or gently used clothing in all sizes and expressions are made available to youth and young adults through Ruth’s Closet located in the Second Stories Drop-In Center. Due to limited storage, seasonally appropriate clothing and outdoor apparel is preferred.

Non-Perishable Foods: Ruth’s Pantry provides youth and young adults experiencing food insecurities with weekly groceries throughout the year. Easy open or peel top items preferred as well as bottled water.

Gift Cards: Gifts cards are a great way to support youth and young adults at the Center. Gift cards may be used for holiday gifts, birthdays, specific items not available through Ruth’s Closet or Ruth’s Pantry, and/or special events hosted by the Youth Advisory Board.

Gift card amounts can range from $5-$50. Retail stores, pharmacies, grocery stores (Meijer), or Visa Gift Cards, area restaurants (Subway, McDonalds, Little Caesars, Wen- dy’s) are suggested.

Safer Sex Supplies: Internal & external condoms, lubricant, dental dams, sanitary wipes.

Hygiene Supplies: Travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash, bar soap, feminine hygiene products.

First Aid Supplies: Band-Aids and other bandages, Neosporin, medical tape, sanitary wipes.
